Privacy policy

What we collect when you read FashionScarlet, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

This policy explains what personal data FashionScarlet collects and how we use it. We collect as little as we can.

What we collect

  • If you subscribe to our newsletter: your email address and the date you subscribed. We use it only to send the newsletter.
  • If you use the contact form: your name, email address and message, so we can reply and keep a record of corrections.
  • When you visit: our web server keeps standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, time) for security and to keep the site running. Logs are deleted on a rolling basis.

We don't sell personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.

Cookies

FashionScarlet itself sets only the cookies it needs to work, for example to protect forms against misuse. We don't run advertising cookies. If we add audience measurement in future, we'll update this page and, where the law requires, ask for your consent first.

Affiliate links and other sites

When you follow a link to a retailer, including an affiliate link, that retailer or the affiliate network may set its own cookies to record that you arrived from FashionScarlet. That's governed by their privacy policies, not ours.

How long we keep data

Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link. Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with them, and correction records for as long as the article they relate to is published.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including the UK, the EU and several US states, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, or to object to how we use it. To make a request, use the contact form and choose "Privacy request". We'll respond within the time the law requires. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date below.
