Corrections

We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we fix it in the open.

Reporting an error

If you think something on FashionScarlet is wrong, such as an outdated returns policy, a misattributed claim or a factual mistake, use the contact form and choose "Correction". Tell us which article, what's wrong, and if possible a link to a source. Brands are welcome to do this too, and are treated exactly like readers.

What we do

  • We check the claim against the original source and any new evidence.
  • If we were wrong, we correct the article promptly and add a dated note at the end describing what changed.
  • If a correction changes our conclusion, "Our take" is rewritten and the note says so.
  • Spelling, formatting and broken links are fixed without a note.

Updates are not corrections

Brands change their policies, prices and products. When a review is revised because the world changed, not because we made a mistake, the "checked" date is updated and, for material changes, a dated update note is added.

What we won't do

We won't remove fair criticism because a brand asks, and we won't silently rewrite an article to hide an error.
